The Situation: An RIA was forced to migrate from TD Ameritrade to Schwab, triggering a cascade of data updates across their CRM (Salesforce), performance reporting (Orion), and billing systems.
The Architectural Failure: Their systems were daisy-chained. Updating the custodian account number in Salesforce did not automatically update the billing system without manual intervention, risking fee miscalculation.
The Solution: We implemented an intermediate middleware layer. We decoupled the systems so that the custodian feed became the single source of truth for account identifiers, which then programmatically updated the CRM and billing tool simultaneously.
